Geography of operations

SMNG has many years of experience providing marine seismic acquisitions, including operations all over the world: the seas of the Russian Arctic and the Russian Far East, the North and Mediterranean Seas, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, the shelf of West Africa and Brazil, the Falkland Islands, Spitsbergen, Cuba, Vietnam, Venezuela, Canada, the Gulf of Mexico, Irish continental shelf, Greenland and also the Black, Azov and Caspian Seas.

We are able to solve problems of the client under any climatic and geographical conditions and to be responsible for the results of the operations. Deepwater SMNG vessels are of reinforced ice class which allows acquiring large volumes of seismic surveys at extreme Arctic weather with ice-bound conditions. Over the past five years our vessels have conducted the unique surveys under the contract with the foreign companies within the Greenland continental shelf (80°N), in the Beaufort Sea near Alaska (73°N), in the ice of the Arctic Ocean (82°N), in the East Siberian and Chukchi Seas and also in the Laptev Sea (82°N). M/V Akademik Shatskiy and M/V Geo Arctic conducted the operations in the ice of Greenland and the Beaufort Sea with an icebreaker support.
